Fashion and the City

Yesterday was the perfect day! Getitnow's "Fashion and the City" event came just in time for me to have some much needed fun before my Crisis Management exam tomorrow.

We met at Odeon Cosmopolis, watched Sex and the City, overdosed on Halston and had fun at the after party. I hate to say it but I wasn't very impressed by the movie. The first one was so much better in my opinion.

The party, on the other hand was amazing!

What's more Queen B., Fashion Architect and I got to pick the lucky winners of a bunch of awesome gifts, including a Mulberry and a Coach clutch, Swarowski Jewellery AND the Vivienne Tam for HP netbook that I adore!

Thank you GETITNOW!

(And special thanks to Alkisti for snapping the first picture for me!)

Evangelos Kavathas, the artist

As many of you probably know today was the opening of "Departures", an exhibition organised by "George Best Costacos foundation".
What does this have to do with fashion, you are going to ask. Well, LFoF's favorite Evangelos Kavathas is among the artists who donated their work to the foundation. As far as I'm concerned it's the first time he is working on something like that and I'd say that his attempt was preety damn good!

Here you see him posing  in front of his piece of art. A true gentleman!

Nikos Floros also took part in the exhibition:

Last but not least another favorite of mine. (Neon signs are one of the coolest things ever!).
Apparently I got too excited with it and I forgot to take a look at the name of the artist. So if anyone knows details please inform me!

"Departures": May 25 - May 31
"Athinais", Kastorias 34-36, Votanikos

Update: I just found out that the artist that made the "Broadway" piece is Stelios P.! Better late than never!

Clogs

I hate to admit it but I think I'm starting to like clogs.
Not any pair of clogs though and only if worn by a particular type of girl.

Chanel clogs for example. I think they're adorable. Mr Lagerfeld could never go wrong!

Johanna Daniil

I always like to see young designers working on classic, timeless pieces. Take Johanna Daniil and the field jacket for example. I really like the designs she presented at Athens Fashion week, especially the third version that looks like a tight cape. Such a clever idea.
Another thing I love is the styling of the second outfit: wearing 2 watches is one of my latest obsessions. Apart from that I think that it's very creative to take the latest street style trends and put them on the runway.

Very fresh and interesting. I can't wait for her next steps.

Vivienne Tam for HP

Now that's one of the things that a shopaholic like me should never see just days before her name-day! The reason? It's too beautiful for words! I saw it up-close, believe me!

You can see it on the runway here:

Ioannis Guia

Ioannis Guia, the greek designer who lives and works in Paris surprised us a couple of months ago with his Sin-meets-Priest-attires show at Athens Exclusive Designers Week. The models, who wore the blondest wigs and rocked juicy red lips, walked the runway in Clothes inspired by the Greek Orthodox church. You see, Guia studied History and the Vyzantium is one of the subjects he is very familiar with.

Today, Mr Guia proved that not only he's great when it comes to presenting a wonderful show but also the clothes are 100% wearable. We met him in a Suite at Athens Intercontinental and had the chance to see the clothes up close and (oh yes) try them on!
Mr Guia welcomed us with a big smile, (he's such a gentleman!) and took time to explain us the way he works. It's very important for him that his collections have a basic theme and that they "communicate" with each other. He uses a certain colour pallete in every collection and always makes sure that the clothes are wearable.

(Dearest Penelopy and me trying the clothes on)

The clothes are so delicate I was even afraid to touch them at first! The striking handcrafted details, the interesting mix of fabrics and the extraodinary shapes made my heart beat fast! The pictures speak for themselves.

Well, I'd say I loved every minute of my afternoon!
Special thanks to Mr Guia!

Value Com held a special Bloggers' FW preview and we were all there.

See the pictures and tell me: Could you resist?

Benetton was definately my favorite.

GETITNOW

Today I wore my favorite blue & white skirt and went downtown. You see, I was one of the lucky bloggers who were invited to the presentation of GETITNOW.GR at Athens Hilton.

From Sunday we'll be able to choose among 300.000 products (including clothes and accessories)  at the lowest prices. They will be acompanied by the description, a high resolution picture and a video, plus we'll have the option to chat online if we need help or advice.

As I was informed, regarding the clothes and accessories, there is more to come so we'll have to be patient. I'm definately going to check the site on Sunday though. In general it looked very user friendly and I got a very good impression!

Fashion Bazaar

If you didn't visit the Fashion Bazaar that takes place in Sintagma Metro Station you should definately do so tomorrow.
The prices are very low and I'm sure that you'll find something that you will fall in love with! Plus it's for a good cause so... double the fun!

Of course I couldn't leave without saying hi to Sotiris Georgiou and his assistant, Vangelis.
(Sotiris Georgiou Dresses, The designer and me, smilling like an idiot as I usually do!)

Plus I got to meet designer Erifilli (that I mistook for someone else, oops!) and she was kind enough to pose for me!

Shopping for a cause is the best thing ever!

Tachydromos making of

Back in the day when I started writing my blog I was curious to see if anyone would be interested to read what I had to say. Almost two years later I get so many lovely e-mails from readers, I’ve met the most amazing people (including my fab fellow bloggers) and I’ve learned a lot.
Who would have thought that fashion bloggers would be featured in magazines, including Tachydromos and that we’d have Spyros Staveris take our pictures?

Speaking of Tachydromos I loved every single minute of the process. Working with Mr Staveris was a great experience and talking with Dimitris was a pleasure.

Anyway, here are some «backstage» pictures that Hari snapped for me!

Dimitris, by the way is like the most stylish journalist. Just take a look at his shoes! I couldn't wait to share this picture with you! Yes he is THAT cool!

Anyway! Special thanks to Tachydromos and Special thanks to all of you for your love and feedback. It means the world to me!

Nicole VS Runway

Nicole Richie chose Marc Jacobs for the Met Costume Institute's Gala and now I love her even more!
I have to admit that the particular dress caught my eye from the first time I saw it on the runway pictures, not that I would ever dislike something that Marc Jacobs would make, but anyway!
I think that the dress looks better on Nicole than on the model. Do you agree or is it just me?

Fendi cuffs

These Fendi cuffs stole my heart. It's probably beacause they're rock n' roll and girly at the same time. I can never resist to anything that's edgy but cute, you know me! Plus I think that the wooden studs are preety cool.

They're a little bit pricey though (403.51€ and 434.55€) so I guess all I'm going to do is look at them!
