As you probably already know I had the honor to be invited to the Mulberry AW show at London Fashion Week. The show was held at Claridge's and I can say I'm so damn impressed by the concept and the beautiful decorations. The inspiration for this season's collection came from Rohald Dahls "Fantastic Mr Fox" and the English Countryside, so the place was turned into a beautiful, magical, fairytale-like world with birds, foxes, squirrels, big red mushrooms and a cute wooden hut. As for the clothes I'd describe them as "big city appropriate, countryside cute".
The last couple of years I'm getting more and more impressed by collections that are wearable with interesting twists even if there's nothing innovative or groundbreaking about them and Mulberry was all about that. I couldn't get my eyes off the pleated dresses, the soft knitwear, the coats and wool jackets, the long cosy scarves and the new updated versions of the bags. I mean, honestly, there was not even one single thing I wouldn't buy, if I could afford it.
The collection contains many key investment pieces (apart from the bags) that were highlighted thanks to the smart and up to date styling. Classic country-inspired outerwear paired with delicate floor skimming dresses, florals mixed with a deep green knitted long vest and a matching scarf or the chic simplicity of a shirt dress paired with a same-colour mini chain bag are just perfect ideas to make one's everyday style a little bit more interesting, don't you think?
