The Floral Shorts

The last couple of seasons shorts have been updated and now one can choose between many different styles. Despite the fact that the silk designs are definitely hot this summer I wasn't really feelling like trying the trend so I decided to stick to a more basic pair of denim shorts. Basic, but not boring.

That's why I decided to get these denim, floral shorts. I definitely recommend that you do the same if you are looking for a piece that will instantly give a twist to your basic casual outfits without stepping out of your comfort zone.

New in: Glambition Bracelets

"Glambition" bracelets seem to be everywhere these days. Bloggers and editors are crazy about them and now I know why: they are very cool and they come in very reasonable prices (6€ to10€ that is).

The person behind "Glambition" accessories is 24 year old Eleftheria Papadaki from Thessaloniki. Before I say anything else, let me tell you that this is one of the things that I love the most about them. People who follow their passion to create always get my vote!
As you have probably already noticed, Eleftheria mostly uses beautiful ribbons, chains and cute beads and the outcome is either quite romantic or totally rock!
Of course some of the Glambition creations are perfect for your boho-chic outfits. These are my favorites:
Anyway, I think that no matter how ladylike or minimal your style is you have to admit that summertime means lots of accessories worn together! Don't you agree?

For more info on Glambition bracelets you can e-mail Eleftheria directly at eleutheriapapadaki@gmail.com

LFoF's Meandhome.gr Picks of the Week: Funky

You probably already know that most of the times I depend on my clothes and accessories to cheer me up so, I guess I should't really explain why after the most hectic week ever I came up with those funky finds, right?

It seems like the older I get the more I love adding statement pieces to my outfits and these CK sunglasses are definitely what I need right now. As for the make - up bag... Well, I don't really need to explain that it's the cutest thing ever, do I?

Now, moving to my third pick, the Max Factor eye - shadow palette: I know it looks quite bold and I absolutely understand it if you believe that you wouldn't be able to create a wearable look with these colors. But, after seeing Yiannis Marketakis create the most amazing 80's inspired look with this particular palette, I say that it's just amazing! Go for it! (See Yiannis Marketakis' the look here)

Week End Getaway - Day 3

The third day of my getaway was marked my the color yellow and yummy cupcakes! Now, before I say anything else I must inform you that if you want to eat the BEST cupcakes in the world you should pay a visit to Liz's Cupcakes in Nafplio. I guarantee that they are absolutely yummy and Liz is a wonderful person (and one of my favorite twιtterers out there - Ι recommend that you follow her @lizcupcakes)

Back to the fashion related stuff now. I told you that I would wear this dress in a more casual way and so I did. I paired it with my flat sandals, my new necklace and this white, blue and yellow bag that I got last year at H&M. As for my make-up it was as minimal as it could get. After all, all I had with me was my Caudalie bronzer, my Ruby Tuesday lipstick by Max Factor and my Bulgari perfume from Meandhome.gr.
I really love this dress but despite the fact that this was the second time that I ever wore it, at some point I noticed a little hole. In any other case I would have thought that I was to blame for that, but unfortunately this is the 3d time that this happens to a piece from Zara's linen collection. (Maybe I do something wrong? Has this happened to anyone before?)  Needless to say I was very sad about it.

Week End Getaway Diary - Day 2

Loads of ice-cream, flat sandals, funky nails, cool hats and crochet details. This collage sums up the second day of my recent getaway. And believe me when I say loads of Ice-Cream, I mean LOADS of ice-cream!

The second day of the Week End getaway I wore my white, crochet dress and this hat from Accessorize that I had fallen in love from the first moment I saw the SS collection presentation in the Accessorize headquarters. I completed the outfit with the same long necklace that I had picked for the first day as well. Simple stuff.
Another thing I did was that I used different nailpolishes for my hands and toes (Blue fingernails and yellow toes that is). To be honest, normally I would have consider that as a huge fashion faux pas ΒUT when you 're out of town it's nice to break free from all the fashion rules and try new things. Don't you agree?

Now, if you don't feel like wearing a crochet dress, you can always try one of those cute crochet tops and pair it with your cut-offs or jeans. Actually I would recommend that you replace most of your white tees with such tops to achieve lovely boho looks that are perfect for Summer. Ιn any case, if you need more ideas on outfits containing crochet tops you can also check these posts:

Week End Getaway Diary - Day 1

This week end was the best of my life so far for many reasons but for now I will try to stick to the fashion - related ones. One of the things that I enjoy the most when it comes to getaways and mini holidays is that I can take a break from my regular styling and wear all those easy breezy dresses and hats that I can't really wear to the office.

So, here's what I wore the first day of my recent week-end getaway:

Suiteblanco dress, Zara flat sandals, Accessorize hat and long necklace

If you ask me, the essentials for a relaxing getaway are the following:
  • Sunglasses
  • Dresses with tribal or ethnic details, crochet tops and denim shorts
  • Flat sandals for the day, platforms for the night (also consider a pair of flatforms - they are cooler than cool!)
  • Oversized tees to wear over your swimsuits
  • A braided belt to adjust your clothes. A slim waistline is always chic
  • Long boho necklaces for the day, statement necklaces or big, golden earrings for the night. Summer bracelets are a must as well.
  • A big scarf (this one from BSB is my favorite and it's created for a good cause!)

LFoF's Meandhome.gr Picks of the Week: Brights

Here's what I chose from Meandhome.gr this week. If you ask me which of the 3 picks is my favorite I will probably not be able to give you an answer. I mean, the headband is so Blair Woldorf-ish, the watch can make one's day even by looking at it (plus it costs less than 17€) and the wallet is beyond cute!

After all, bright colors are a must for the Summer, don't you think?

Wondering what to wear on the week end? Here's what I have in mind:
Α denim pair of shorts, a loose tee and my beloved customized all-star sneakers is all I need to spend the w/e as comfortably as it can get. As for my Bela Louloudaki necklace, well that's a must!

The Yellow Dress for the Summer Party

The past week end I attended my bestie's birthday party. She asked me to wear something bright and (needless to say) I couldn't think of anything brighter than a yellow maxi dress. For the party I paired this dress with my summery turquoise necklace, the clutch that I got as a gift from Accessorize when I attended the Spring / Summer presentation in London (I've noticed that it's now available in many colors!), my golden sandals and a simple braided belt.

(Zara dress + belt, H&M necklace, Suiteblanco sandals, Accessorize clutch)

Of course, I am planning to wear the dress in a more casual way as well. I'll start by pairing it with one of my hats, flat sandals and this necklace and I'll let you know how it went!

Starting today, the scarf is available at selected BSB stores and all  earnings from the sales will be donated to EELIA.

I was one of the bloggers that actually chose this print so I really hope you like it!

The New Navy

One of the things I love the most in fashion is that you can play with the all - time classic styles and create outfits that look fresh and stylish. This is exactly what I had in mind when I paired this outfit. You see, I was pretty bored of the whole navy-style thing and I wanted a change. This ethnic - inspired necklace seemed like the perfect addition. What do you think?

Beauty & Fashion Summer Essentials

Summer is officially here and I couldn't think of a more proper post to welcome the season so I gathered here some of my fashion and beauty Summer must-haves. Some of them I've been using them for years, some of them got into my life the last couple of weeks but I can assure you that I have tried them all and I recommend them without a second thought.

Face Sunscreen: La Roche - Posay Anthelios
Sunscreen is a must, we all now that. I have to admit though that even if I absolutely understand the necessity I hadn't until now found a sunscreen that I didn't hate wearing. You see, most of the products I have tried in the past were too "heavy" and I could feel them on my face all day long. I 've been wearing this one for a couple of weeks now and I am very happy with it. It's quite light and I absolutely love the fact that I am finally doing what's right for my skin!

Ehnic Details: Stradivarius Necklace
Even if my style is more girly - ladylike I really enjoy adding ethnic and bohemian details in my summer outfits. I recently got this necklace and despite the fact that I've already worn it once since I bought it I think that it is definitely going to be one of the basic players in my summer dressing.

Nail Polish: Essie
I am such a huge Essie fan that I couldn't not put it in my list! This Summer I promised myself that I will get creative with my mani-pedi. I started with multicolor nails and by the end of the season I'm sure I will try every single nail-trend. Next stop? Ombre nails! I saw it on Lauren Conrads "The Beauty Department" and I loved it!

Flat Sandals: Zara
Even the biggest high-heel junkie in the world (me, that is) loves a cute pair of flats. I'm not into rules and I believe that when it comes to our personal style one should be free to choose what to wear BUT I'd advice you not to choose something that's TOO sparkly. Trust me it will be so much easier to pair it with the items you already have in your closet. Anyway, I chose these ones from Zara because I love how they look like the classic gladiator sandals but in a griller version.

Body Sunscreen: Garnier Ambre Solaire Golden Protect
Obviously this is not a normal - boring sunscreen. This product protects from the harmful UVA and UVB rays and at the same time it enhances one's tan since it's enriched with nourishing Monoi Oil and shimmering pearl. No wonder why it instantly got its place in my summer bag!

Long necklaces: Bela Louloudaki and Sarah Spiridou
I was introduced to the work of Bela Louloudaki almost a year ago and I instantly became a big fan (you can see her amazing work here). Sarah Spiridou is a newer addition to my "Favorites" list. Needless to say I plan on wearing those two long necklaces all Summer long!
(Bela Louloudaki's and Sarah Spiridous' jewelry is available at Shop, Ermou 112A)

Panama Hats
I can't even imagine Summer without Panama hats! I found these at Shop as well and even if I haven't bought one of them yet I don't think that I will manage to resist for much longer! Aren't they perfect?

Instead of Foundation: Garnier B.B. Cream
I've been using Garnier's B.B. cream since it launched in Greece and I am so happy with it that I don't think that I will replace it any time soon. I'd say that all you need for the perfect summery make-up is the B.B cream, a bit of a shimmering bronzing powder, a lot of mascara and a vivid fuchsia lipstick. After all, too much make-up is a big no-no for the Summer.
Skin Toning: Acai Damage Protection Toning Mist
A few weeks ago I visited Kiehl's Corner at Attica downtown Athens in order to find the perfect products for my skin type. I explained that during the day (mainly when I'm in the office) I feel that my skin gets dry and my "consultant" there, Eleni suggested that I should take the "Acai Damage Protection Toning Mist". I got it without a second thought  (I adore Kiehl's products anyway) and I am very satisfied with it.

Girly Stuff: Dresses and Make-Up by Yiannis Marketakis and Max Factor

The secret of not wasting too much time deciding what to wear everyday is to invest to a couple of statement pieces or at least items that have this extra something that makes the difference and looks cool without really having to add many accessories. And this is exactly the reason why I got this dress without a second thought. Apart from the fact that I liked the girly line and the summery color, I also loved the fact that it can be paired with almost every piece one already has. Statement necklaces? check! Platforms? check! Cute flats? check!
AND it looks good even when you turn your back!
(Suiteblanco dress, Accessorize necklace, Uterque Sunglasses, Anna-Maria Mazaraki ring)
So, no wonder why this dress was my first choice last Saturday  when I headed downtown to meet  Yiannis Marketakis at his Make Up Lab in Psyrri, Athens.

The funny thing is that my dear friend and fellow blogger Lopi chose to wear pretty much the same thing, only she rocked the green, top version of the dress! See? Great minds think alike!

(Yet another Accessorize necklace!)
And the back!
Our visit to the Make up Lab was (of course) very enlightening when it comes to the Summer make-up trends and Yiannis even showed us step by step how to achieve a very beautiful - 80's inspired look using Max Factor's yellow, green and orange eye shadow palette. (See it up close here )
And speaking of my visit to Make up Lab I couldn't not share some pics of my new Max Factor Favorites!
(Starting from the left: the Flipstick, the Liquid Effect Eye Pencil in brown, the new False Lash Effect Mascara, a concealer, a classic red lipstick, Glossfinity Nail Laquer, Max Factor's Ageless Elixir makeup)

And the winner is: The Max Factor Ruby Tuesday Lipstick!
Despite the fact that I loved all the products and I use them daily, I absolutely can't get enough of  the Ruby Tuesday red Lipstick. Not only is it the absolute red but at the same time it's very easy to apply, it's smoother than you can imagine and the best of all? It really is long lasting! If you are into red lipstick you should definitely fet this one!
